Hunting for Heritage
On this page, you can see my personal favorite shot of each heritage unit I catch.

NS 1072 | Illinois Terminal
It was a nice early morning railfanning when NS 1072 came and surprised me leading a stack train!

NS 8099 | Southern Railway
I never really cared about heritage units until I saw 1072-now I wanted to catch every one that came through! The first one I went for was 8099. The overcast sky made for quite a shot!

NS 1068 | Erie Railroad
The NS Erie Railroad Heritage Unit, trails behind a Dash 9 on an autorack train. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of a stop in between my freind's spot and mine, and the train was two hours later than I anticipated. It was a rather cold evening.

NS 1069 | Virginian Railway
NS 1069, the Virginian Railways heritage unit, trails second behind an EMD SD70ACu with a loud K5LLA horn. Thanks to vigilant fellow railfans on the Lehigh Line, I was able to keep tabs on the unit a it passed through New Jersey and Easton, PA and caught it without a hitch. Great experience! (Also, thanks to my girlfriend for coming with me!) This was my first heritage catch I used my camera to photograph and look at the difference! This makes 5/20 or 25% of the way there!

NS 8104 | Lehigh Valley Railroad
Let's go!! I finally caught my favorite engine on the NS roster!
I got word of this engine's coming through and I basically ran to the car - I wasn't missing this one. NS 8104, a GE ES44AC, is my favorite NS heritage unit of them all. I am pretty happy with how this shot came out, too. This was the first heritage unit I caught at a spot besides CP Bethlehem
